Loving Our Community

With over 30 years of experiencing God’s goodness through long-term partnerships, Proem has recently developed a fourth area of ongoing ministry focused on service, love and transformation in the world. Understanding the needs of the local and regional communities, we desire to follow Christ’s example of service and love.  Our goal is to tangibly show compassion to the poor in Poland and throughout the world by prayerfully providing practical and meaningful assistance where most needed.

Help Center

Since the beginning of 2022, we have lived under the pressure of the war, and Ukraine is still under heavy attack from Russia. We are continuing to provide help and aid to the Ukrainian people because they are our neighbors who, through this struggle, have also become our friends. Because of the current circumstances, we are in the process of forming long-term care plans as our ministry grows, and we are prayerfully considering how to best meet the needs of people in crisis as we point them toward Christ.

Proem’s Response to the Crisis in Ukraine: On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, forcing the mass exodus of more than 12 million Ukrainians from their homes. More than 10 million have crossed the border into Poland, with 3 million remaining in Poland. We are in the midst of an ongoing crisis that will undoubtedly change the face of Eastern Europe.

Because of the war in Ukraine, Proem experienced an unprecedented year in 2022. We were able to house, feed and care for over 1,100 Ukrainian refugees, expand our Christian Counseling Counter into a multi-room facility, and provide ongoing trauma care, support groups, and spiritual guidance to a multitude of people in need.

In June of 2022, with the help of U.S. partners, we purchased a 47-room former hotel in Tomaszów, which provides ongoing care for displaced Ukrainians. Proem’s “Help Center” is a permanent response to meet the ongoing needs of families and individuals in immediate crisis. There is a continuous need to care for single mothers, people going through mental health crises, and those recovering from addiction and returning to the community.

International Mission Trips

Proem has recently organized short-term mission trips to Zimbabwe, and Israel. Working closely with international partners in ministry, we hope to provide practical help for those we serve, as well as opportunities for a growing number of new Polish believers to live out their new-found faith by serving and loving others.

Kontakt Festival

An integral part of church-planting in Poland includes serving and investing in local communities. Kontakt is defined as a city-wide outreach event involving hundreds of international volunteers who share God’s love in practical ways. Kontakt provides an immediate context for short-term teams and individuals wanting to participate in service projects and reshape the reality for some of Poland’s most needy people.

After School Program

Through a partnership with local social development agencies, Proem has organized an ongoing program focused on investing in parents and their children. This program offers these families an array of services including  homework assistance, English classes, hot meals, sports, parenting workshops and field trips.

Family Counseling Center

Our Family Counseling and Addiction Therapy program offers marital and family guidance as well as sessions for addiction, trauma, depression and anxiety. Since most of the clients come from outside the local church, our counseling center is often the first time these patients hear about the life they can have through Christ.
